Obituary of David E McClaflin

 

David E. McClaflin, 65, passed away on January 24, 2019 in Washougal, Washington.

 

In keeping with the wishes of David there will be no funeral services.  His ashes will be spread in Hawaii and Washington.  

 

David was born in Eugene, Oregon to John O. McClaflin and Edna M. McClaflin (Hoover) on July 19, 1953.  He graduated from Corvallis High School.  He received a degree from Clark College as a diesel mechanic.  He worked as a long-haul truck driver for many years. He was a veteran of Vietnam and served in the Navy.  David was an avid fisherman and hunter.

 

David is preceded in death by his brother, Robert F. McClaflin, his father John O. McClaflin of Albany, Oregon, his mother Edna M. Wong of Waianae, Hawaii and step-dad, George Wong of Waianae, Hawaii.

 

David is survived by his ex-wife and best friend, Cindy McClaflin of Washougal, WA, son, Robert McClaflin and Wendy Dennis of Portland, OR, step-son, Jamie Robson of Washougal, WA, sister, Juanita Blanton of Houma, Louisiana, and grandchildren, Timothy Robson and Kayden Sonderen of Carson, WA.

 

Straub’s Funeral Home & Columbia River Cremation in Camas is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be donated to American Cancer Society or to VA Portland.
