I’ll always remember adventures with Butch. Some of my favorites were traveling to Bend to pick up my new pickup, Butch insisted on going since Greg and I were so young, and put a boat seat in the back of my Jeep so he had a fake seatbelt, in case we got pulled over. Well, we got pulled over a couple of times. My Jeep lights would only shine on HIgh and only if I kept my foot on the thing to change from Low to High, so I had to power shift (which Butch taught me that night). Elk hunting twice with Butch and Greg was another of my best memories. One time at elk camp it was about negative ten to thirty at night and we were staying in their motor home, I drove us around in my truck, slipping and sliding all over for days. It was the best adventure of my year. There are so many memories of practical jokes that he would do to my wife and I. Oftentimes after they came to visit for some reason we would find peanuts in our bed. He seemed to make everything fun, good, a learning experience. We crabbed together a few times, fished together and spent many meals together. He had the best sense of humor. We thank God for having Butch in our lives. He was always game for a joke, which suited me well, and was the best example of how to be a husband, father and a decent human being. Tuna canning was always an adventure: we would stay up all night with music and way too much coffee. He made everything fun. My wife and her friends loved him. He always made each one of them feel special with a flower or a bottle of wine. I am so glad to have had him in my life, just being around him made a guy feel better.
