EMMA “TILLIE” SHAWCROSS
Emma Shawcross, 79, known as “Tillie” to her family and friends, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2020 at her home in Camas, WA, surrounded by family. She was born on Panama City, FL on March 9th, 1941, one of 7 children. Emma relocated to Camas with her family in the early 70’s, where she stayed the remainder of her days. Her passions where primarily focused on her family first and an assortment of hobbies ranging from bowling, avid book reading, golfing gardening and volks-walking. Emma’s sense of humor was admirable along with her continual commitment to doing the right thing. She was wise in her years and always gave good advice with was common sense approach to things.
Her career included working for Crown Zellerbach in the Bag Plant flowed by a Quality Control Tester with Fiber Web, until her retirement, with over three decades of combined service.
Emma is survived by four children, Van Puckett of Tracy, CA, Frank Puckett (Judy) of Washougal, WA, Bonnie Vanlaeken (Tom) of Ridgefield, WA and Tia Hanke (Tim) of Washougal, WA; as well as 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, whom will always “Luva, luva, luva you, Nana.” May she rest in peace in God’s Grace and we so look forward to seeing her in the afterlife.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bryon Shawcross, of which our family held great esteem for and his presence has been sorely missed.
A celebration of Life will be scheduled for a later point in time as our current social distancing takes temporary precedence with our lives today. Emma will be greatly missed and her love for her children and friends will remain for all of you.
