Obituary of Michael David Anthony Ferguson

Michael David Anthony Ferguson
Mike passed unexpectedly in his sleep on the morning of October 2, 2020.
He was born in Phoenix, Arizona in 1990. He graduated from UW in 2014 with honors and earned two degrees, in Economics and Environmental Studies and went on to work in the renewable energy sector. For the past 3 years, he lived with his brother aboard his yacht which was moored in Seattle.
An old soul, he loved learning and was knowledgeable in a wide range of subjects, but his real passion was for music and the ocean. He loved to scuba dive and had an exhaustive knowledge of sea life. A talented musician, he played the piano, guitar, and bass, and it was his beloved Les Paul he held closest to his heart. He loved to cook and was always working on a new recipe.
In high school, he was diagnosed with keratoconus, an eye disease that shaped and changed the rest of his life. For the past 10 years, he struggled with his vision, but he never failed to see the things that really mattered: he had the love of family and friends and he knew that life was precious.
He was sharp-witted and incredibly funny, talented and creative. He was caring, generous and kind. An exceptionally sensitive soul, he had no tolerance for cruelty, and had insight beyond his years. He was a wonderful son, grandson, nephew and brother - a good friend. Nothing would make Mike more happy than knowing you are remembering him with a smile.
A non-profit will be set up in Mike’s memory. In lieu of flowers or gifts, we ask that you remember Mike by being kind and compassionate. By continuing to be a friend and helping those in need. By listening to some great music as he loved to do so much: putting on an album and really feeling every note. And by remembering to love your family with all your heart - and never forgetting to live every day.
