Bill & Sheila Good posted a condolence
Monday, January 10, 2022
Dear Debbie, Roy and Greta, and Ross, Julie, and Colin,
We are so sorry for the loss of Tom. While the people of Camas and Washougal remember Tom in the many important roles he filled in the community, I want to share how much he meant to the Good family. When we moved up on Sunset View Road in 1974, Tom, Debbie, and Roy were our nearest neighbors, and in time our two families grew close enough to almost become one extended family.
We always thought of Tom as a protective older brother. He was always there to help in countless ways: thawing frozen water pipes, clearing the snowbound driveway with his tractor, and even burying a dog killed by coyotes! Most of these emergencies happened while Bill was away on his ship. But we also have precious memories of happy times when Bill was home: Christmas Eve dinners with the entire Huffman family, numerous get-togethers in spring and summer, and of course, countless birthday celebrations! Two of the greatest celebrations in the Huffman and Good families were the arrival of Ross and Milon. Those were indeed happy days and brought our two families even closer together.
But time marches on…I almost don’t recognize the old neighborhood, and perhaps Tom wouldn’t have, either. Yet our memories are fresh and vivid of the joyful days we all spent together. Now, Tom is in a better place, free of pain. For that, we are grateful, but he will always remain the young, vibrant, and helpful Tom we met almost fifty years ago!
Our love to all of you, and our heartfelt wishes for strength as you overcome the pain of your loss.
Sheila, Bill, Moloy and Meredith, and Milon and Janna, and families
