Obituary of Sandra Jean Cochran

Sandra Jean Fjermestad Cochran Sandra Jean Cochran went to meet her Lord on March 16, 2022 in Vancouver, WA. She was born July 12, 1941 in Hillsboro, OR to the parents of Clifford and Janet Fjermestad at a migrant hospital located in NorthPlains, OR. Soon afterwards her parents left the large Dairy and moved to Camas, WA so her dad could work in the Crown Zellerback paper mill. Sandra grew up there and graduated from Camas High School in 1959. In the fall, she attended Good Samaritan Nursing School in Portland, OR and graduated in 1962: she also attended the Grad Bible course at Multnomah Bible School in Portland, OR. and graduated in 1964. While there, she met Larry Cochran and they were married Jan. 2, 1965 in Camas, WA. During their years together they lived in Culver City, CA. San Jose, CA. Tucson, AZ., Longmont, CO., and Vancouver, WA. Sandra worked as a RN, Preschool Teacher, ran a cleaning business and worked at Hewlett-Packard in Vancouver, WA. Her five children are Cindi (Joe) Gliori of Willow, Alaska, Keith and Kyle Cochran of Vancouver, WA, Craig of Irving, TX, and Karla (Fred) Alt of Cle Elum, WA. There are four grandchildren, Charissa, Ethan and Brianna of Willow, Alaska and Matt Thorell of Loomis, NE. Also, three great grandchildren, Aizlynn, Quinn and Elise of Willow, Alaska. Her siblings are Danny Fjermestad of Camas, WA. who died in England in 1967, Michael (Karen) Fjermestad of Washougal, WA., Sharon (Paul) Kay of Redmond, CA., Nancy (Dale) Hammrich of Raymond, WA., and Roger (Jenny) Fjermestad of Kelso, WA. Sandra was active in her church as a Sunday School and Junior church leader. After retirement she was an leader for the Tuesday AM Bible Study at Central Bible Church in Portland, OR. for about 10 years. She loved to read, sew and work in the yard. A service will be held Saturday, May 21, 2022, at 11:30AM at Straub’s Funeral Home in Camas, WA.
