Obituary of Sard Steudler

SARD STEUDLER Sard Steudler, of Washougal, died Monday, May 10 at SW Washington Medical Center in Vancouver. He was 81. Mr. Steudler was born March 15, 1923 in Portland, OR where he grew up. Sard joined the Navy and served during WWII. After his military service he attended Oregon State University and later married Gelene Hobbs in 1950. They made Portland their home and Sard worked for Parr Lumber Company for over 30 years. He retired in 1985 and they moved to Washougal in 1998. Mr. Stuedler loved baseball and being on his property on the Washougal River. He was preceded in death by a son, Larry, in 2002. Survivors include his wife, Gelene, at home; son Stan of Washougal; sisters, Dianne Dills of Washougal and Sally Steudler of Tigard, OR and 1 grandchild. At his request his body will be cremated and there will be no services. Straub?s Funeral Home & Columbia River Crematory in Camas is in charge of the arrangements.
