Obituary of Jeffrey Patrick Batchelor

JEFFREY PATRICK BATCHELOR Jeffrey Batchelor, of Washougal, passed away, Thursday, June 17 at SW Washington Medical Center. He was 56. Mr. Batchelor was born January 9, 1948 in Santa Monica, CA and grew up in Downey, CA. Jeff joined the U.S. Coast Guard and served during Vietnam. He married Gloria Chavez on September 30, 1967 and was eventually stationed at the U.S. Coast Guard station on Swan Island in Portland. Jeff retired from the Coast Guard after serving 21 years. He loved football, baseball, fishing, hunting, and reading. He was a soccer coach, cub scout leader and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was a good man and loved by many. Survivors include his wife Gloria, at home; sons, Donald, Matthew, and Timothy all of Vancouver; daughters, Sinthea Batchelor-Cornelison of Vancouver, Jennifer Batchelor of Washougal; father, Donald F. of Yucca Valley, CA; sisters, Sandy Decker of Penn Valley, CA, Linda Perry-Bargallo of El Cajon, CA, Sharon Curfman of Whittier, CA, Laura Lee of Redondo, CA; and 8 grandchildren. A funeral service will be Monday, June 21 at 11am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on 39th & ?Q? St. in Washougal. Burial will follow at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
