Hello,
I sent an e-mail to Mathias at his church last night. So I\'ll try to share some other things that come to mind
I\'ve had many hours to reflect upon a man who was by far the best person I knew outside of my own familyin Estacada. When my folks informed me of what had happened, I was very saddened by the news.
It was very obvious in his children that he was a great man. Sarah, Debbie, and Mathias were a true reflection of their father\'s character. There were many difficult times in my life in Oregon that I wish my own father could have been more like Steve. Who knows, I may have actually stayed in Oregon had he approached things more like him. I was very perceptive of how the elders treated their own kids.
I never found any fault in Steve.
He knew I wasn\'t a perfect person that disliked living in Estacada and a hinderance to some things at church. However, he always was very nice to me.
I always viewed Steve as a peacemaker. He really did what he could to help others get along.
I remember one night when a church member had a problem with my father getting a pay raise up to $28,000. Steve worked that situation out as smoothly as anyone could have.
His loyalty to my father will also stand out. I regret I learned of the situation a little too late. However, my family and I know we will see Steve soon.
Thank you Steve, Gloria, Sarah, Debbie, and Mathias for putting up with me those three plus years.
God Bless,
Paul
