NEHEMIAH PALMER
Nehemiah ?Nicky? Palmer died of cancer at his home in Camas on Monday, July 12th. He was 57. Nicky was born April 1, 1947 in Russellville, SC to Anne Gadsen and John Palmer. He grew up in Miami and obtained his AS degree from the University of Maryland. He met Linda Lee Ornellas in California and they were married in 1966. They lived all over the world but moved to Camas in 1979 where they raised their family. He worked as a computer technician for various companies, including TekSystems at Novellus in Portland, Ore. He was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Camas and was also the Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus. He loved jazz and always attended the Mt. Hood Jazz Festival. He learned to love camping after moving to the Northwest and made the experience as plush and gourmet as possible. But the most important thing to him was his family.
Mr. Palmer is survived by his wife Linda at home in Camas; children LaTonia Turner of Camas, Nehemiah D. Palmer of Eugene, Ore. and LaVelle Palmer of Vancouver; brothers Josiah, John, Louis, Leroy, Jacob, James, Sam, George and Herbert all of Miami, FL and Eddie of Gloucester, VA as well as five grandchildren.
Funeral mass will be Saturday, July 17th at 11 AM at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Camas. A vigil service will be at the church on Friday evening at 7:30 PM.
