I shared a room with Bob from October 6th until October 9th, at SW Washington Medical, on the 4th floor. I was impressed with Bob\'s patience and his quiet dignity while dealing with his many issues in the hospital. He often commented that he could tell the time of the day or night simply by which nurse or aide came in the room. He was uncanny with this gift. He would tell a joke or make fun of the constant blood test, the constant imterruptions in our sleep, how the night nurses always were the ones who drew his blood, and how they must be vampires. I was amazed with how he just accepted his predicament and kept his, and my spirits positive. He told me about the time when his buddy snuck a pizza into the emergency room and convinced a nurse to smuggle it into the room. And how the floor nurse found it and came unglued. It had us both laughing for several moments. Although I only met Bob for a few days, I will remember the time we spent together and I I am a better person for knowing him. My condolences and prayers go to his widow and his family.
