Dear Fern,
I am very sorry to hear about your loss. My sincere condolences to you and your family.
I didn\'t know your husband, and I haven\'t seen you since we graduated from The Dalles High in 1995. But when Earline Wasser sent the notice of your husband\'s death to all of us in the Yahoo group for our class, I decided to take this opportunity to contact you. I hope you don\'t find it inappropriate.
When you have the time, I would love to receive an e-mail from you. One of my fondest grade-school memories is the weekend I spent at your farm, swimming in the creek with you and your brothers, riding that big old horse in a plowed field, listening to The Lone Ranger on Saturday morning, and eating probably the best food I ever had, before or since. Your mom actually gave us "dessert" for dinner: JELLO! albeit, with carrots in it . . ..
I can still picture your soft-spoken, smiling parents -- your dad, rosy-cheeked in his big blue overhauls, and your very pretty mom, with her kind, sparkling eyes.
You and your family are in my thoughts, Fern, and I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Patti
