Obituary of Lavina Faye Read

LAVINA FAYE READ Lavina Read, of Camas, passed away Wednesday, December 1 at Oregon Health Science University Hospital in Portland. She was 63. Lavina was born June 26, 1941 in Grubbs, Arkansas. Lavina was a homemaker and has lived in Camas for the past 43 years. She enjoyed her family and friends, going to the beach, gardening and her grandchildren. She was also a prayer warrior for St. Joseph?s Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband, Jim Read, of Camas; daughter, Laurena Read of Camas and two foster daughters, Sandy Adolf Beaver and Vicki Meadows; sister, Donna Newton of Camas and 6 grandchildren. A funeral mass will be Tuesday, December 7 at 10am at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Vancouver. Vault interment will follow at the Camas Cemetery at 12:30 PM. Visitation will be Monday from 10am to 5pm at Straub?s Funeral Home in Camas. Straub?s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity.
