JOHN ROBERT WOLLAM
John Wollam, a Camas resident, passed away Monday, December 27 in Vancouver. He was 88. He was born September 30, 1916 in Kalamazoo, MI to Maud Timmons and Stanley Wollam. He grew up in the Woodstock area of Portland and later served with the Marines in WWII. After his discharge he moved back to the Portland area and then went to work for Westlie Ford Mercury where he had a long career before going to work for the City of Camas. He later retired from Wilhelm Trucking as a heavy duty mechanic. John enjoyed gardening, cooking and food preserving.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Jim, Bill, Tom, and Joe.
Survivors include his children, Sherrill Wollam of Oregon City, OR, Neil Wollam of Port Orchard, WA, Roger Wollam of Camas, WA, Ann Allison of Vancouver, WA; Bruce Wollam of Goldendale, WA and Tedi Brown of Ketchikan, AK; sister, Jean Trout of Granada Hills, CA; 13 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be Monday, January 17 at 11am at Straub?s Funeral Home in Camas. Memorial donations can be given to a charity of choice.
