Obituary of Joy Lorraine Rowley

JOY LORRAINE ROWLEY Joy Rowley, age 79, passed away December 21 at SW Washington Medical Center in Vancouver. She was born February 5, 1925 in Washougal, WA where she was raised. She graduated from Jefferson High School in Portland, OR in 1943. In January of the same year she had married Duane Rowley in Vancouver, WA. They lived in Portland until moving to Washougal in 1949 where Joy was a homemaker. She was a member and Past President of the Women?s Board at Orchard Hills Country Club in Washougal. Joy was also a former Girl Scout Leader and enjoyed working in her yard. She is survived by her husband, Duane, at home in Washougal; daughter, Dona Lauderdale of Washougal; brothers, Merril and Norman Alexander both of Washougal; sister, Norma Dixon of Emporia, KS; 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be Monday, December 27 at 2pm at the Bethel Community Church in Washougal. Straub?s Funeral Home & Columbia River Crematory in Camas is in charge of the arrangements.
