Obituary of John R. Wurzer

JOHN R. WURZER John Wurzer, age 94, passed away Wednesday, March 30 in Vancouver. He was born October 22, 1910 in Fingal, ND where he grew up and worked on farms. He joined the Army and served during WWII participating in 5 different campaigns including the Battle of the Bulge and D-Day at Normandy for which he received the Jubilee of Liberty Medal. He moved to the Camas/Washougal area and worked at Crown Zellerbach for many years. He married Margaret Rekdahl in 1961 and she passed away in 2002. John loved to cook and was very fond of animals. He is survived by his step-daughter, Judy Roberts and her husband, Joe of Washougal; sister, Mary Jorissen of Port Angeles, WA; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Wurzer of Washougal; and numerous nieces and nephews. A private graveside service will be at the Camas Cemetery. Straub?s Funeral Home in Camas is in charge of the arrangements.
