JOHN ROBERT CARROLL
John Carroll passed away Saturday, July 16 at the age of 76. John was born in Washougal, WA on January 12, 1929 to Francis and Frankie Rose O?harra Carroll and their other children Betty Sellers, Roger Carroll, Francis Carroll, Jr., Patricia Terhorst Alder, and Rose Marie Downing.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Colleen Mueller and Elenita Carroll.
John is survived by his children Pat Eledge, Teri Hosman, Mary Cole all of Washougal, Dyanna Baker of Central California and Michael Carroll of Seattle. He also leaves behind five grandchildren, Janet, Matthew, Denise, Melissa, Henry, and five great grandchildren, Bradley, Aja, Coral, Cory, Allyson and Riddick.
John grew up during the depression learning how to work very hard and make a dollar count. He had a diversified work history and among his many jobs he held were farming, logging, a resawyer for Hamilton Bros. Sawmill, sold Fuller Brush products, owned Carroll?s Music in Camas, counted salmon and Bonneville Dam, equipment operator for Skamania County Road Dept., and owned the Bungalow Tavern in Carson, WA. He achieved his pilots license and enjoyed flying small planes, inventing, dreaming, gold panning and socializing. He traveled especially to Montana with his beloved dog, Jumper who died years ago. He spent one year out of Washougal and lived in California with his daughter, Dyanna, coming back to spend the last several years at Columbia Ridge Assisted Living in Washougal.
He was a brother, father, grand and great grandfather. He was extremely good natured, honest, sensitive and sweet. A irreplaceable and valuable friend and he will be sorely missed.
