Obituary of Clyde Glenn Hartman

Clyde Glenn Hartman, age 69, a resident of Camas, WA died October 6,2005 at Southwest Washington Medical Center. He was born June 18,1936 in Springfield, OR. He married Mavis Combs on April 18,1954 and moved to Camas in 1957. From 1958 to 1979 he worked for his best friend Charles Hanson at Cadd and Hanson's Chevron. During this time he also worked for Young Life in Camas and Stevenson and was the youth director at Camas Friends Church. In 1969 he graduated from Cascade College in Portland. In 1973 he ran a youth outreach group at Nora Self Hall. In 1979 he went into full-time ministry in Muscatine, Iowa. He was a pastor in Muscatine for 7 years and then in Salem, OR for 2 1/2 years. In 1989 he moved back to Camas, where he worked helping troubled youth at the Wenchell Group Home. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mavis, his daughter Debra Hagen and son-in-law David Hagen, his son Glenn Hartman and daughter-in-law Lisa Hartman, his daughter Penni Wampach and son-in-law Nick Wampach, all of Camas; 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was active in the Optimist Club, Camas Soccer Club, and 4-H. He loved gardening, woodworking, watching his grandchildren's sports games and Oregon State football.
A celebration of life service will be held on October 15th at 2:00 p.m. at Grace Foursquare Church, 717 S.E. Everett Rd., Camas, WA. Straub?s Funeral Home in Camas is in charge of the arrangements.
