Obituary of Ivan Gerold Johnson

IVAN GEROLD JOHNSON Ivan Johnson, a longtime Washougal resident, passed away, Monday, January 30 in Vancouver. He was 87. Ivan was born November 26, 1918 in Mt. Vernon, SD. After high school he joined the Navy and served during WWII. After his military service he moved to the Camas/Washougal area and went to work for Crown Zellerbach paper mill. He later went to work at Van?s Fuel Service delivering fuel oil. Ivan married Anna Erickson in 1947 and they made Washougal their home. Ivan retired from Van?s Fuel Service after working there for 35 years. He was an longtime and active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Camas and a member of the American Legion Post #14. He was also a former Council Member for the City of Washougal and was in the 49?ers Trailer Club. Ivan and Anna enjoyed attending their grandchildren and great grandchildren?s activities. He is survived by his wife, Anna, at home; daughter, Corolyn Broscheit of Camas; step-son, Gary Anderson of Vancouver; step-daughter, Charlene Huddleston of Camas; sister, Kathleen Anderson of Vancouver; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be Friday, February 3, at 11am at Zion Lutheran Church in Camas. Burial will follow at the Camas Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 12pm to 5pm at Straub?s Funeral Home in Camas.
