CLAYTON HENRY ADAMS
Clayton Henry Adams died in Vancouver on Thursday, February 23rd. He was 93. Mr. Adams was born in Miles City, Montana January 17, 1913 to Inez Johnson and Albert Adams. He spent his young years in Montana until the family moved to Yakima. He graduated from high school in Yakima and moved to California. There he married Virginia Amiss and they continued to live in California for several years. In the mid-40?s they moved back to Yakima and then to Toledo, Wash. They moved to Vancouver, Wash. in the early ?60?s. Besides being an insurance salesman he managed apartments in Vancouver. Clayton moved to Washougal in the early ?70?s and his wife, Virginia, died in 1996. Mr. Adams loved to garden and was a sports fanatic. He enjoyed reading and was very smart being able to recite long passages from memory.
He is survived by his children, Clayton H. Adams, Jr. of Nevada, Gloria Baird of Edmonds, WA, June Phillips and her husband, Don of Washougal, John Adams of Vancouver, Michael Adams and his wife, Virginia of Centralia, IL; brother, Kent Adams of McMinnville, OR; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be Tuesday, February 28, at 1pm at Straub?s Funeral Home in Camas. Vault interment will be private at the Washougal Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, from 12pm to 5pm and Tuesday starting at 10am at Straub?s Funeral Home.
