VERLE BERNICE CLARK
Verle Bernice Clark passed away Thursday, April 12 in Camas at the age of 101. She was born September 30, 1905 in Peck, ID and graduated from Lewiston High School. She worked as a beautician in Lewiston and Moscow before marrying George Clark in Lewiston on April 23, 1927. They moved to Clark County in 1928 and Verle did cake decorating for many occasions and was a seamstress making wedding dresses and other items.
She was a member and a Deacon of St. John?s Presbyterian Church in Camas. Verle was also Past Master of the Fern Prairie Grange; a member of the National Grange for 55 years. She was a Daughter of the Nile; Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star; Royal Matron Order of the Amaranth and Past President of the Camas/Washougal Business and Professional Women?s? Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George, in 1969; 2 sisters, one brother and grandchildren Kevin and Rhonda.
She is survived by her sons, Darrell and Rolland Clark both of Washougal; daughter, Rancene Stevens of Camas; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 18 at 1pm at St. John?s Presbyterian Church. Inurnment will be at the Camas Cemetery. Straub?s Funeral Home & Columbia River Cremation in Camas is in charge of the arrangements.
