HARVEY LAWRENCE COUGHLIN
Harvey Lawrence Coughlin, a Washougal resident, died Monday June 28th at his home in Washougal. He was 83. Mr. Coughlin was born April 14, 1921 in Carlton, Minnesota to Josephine Victoria Kaneski and Lawrence Bartholomew Coughlin. He grew up in Minnesota and enlisted in the Navy during WWII. He served eight years and was a Pearl Harbor survivor. After his discharge he went back to Minnesota until moving to Washougal in 1952. He worked for the railroad for 30 years retiring in 1982. He spent his retirement years in Washougal. He loved to hunt, fish and play cards, especially cribbage.
Mr. Coughlin is survived by his sons Larry of Portland and Lance of Washougal; daughter Marcy Hamilton of Washougal; stepsons Ed and Mitch Laudert both of Washougal; brother Patrick Coughlin in Florida; sisters Mary Ferrer and Betty North both of Cloquet, Minn.; six grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
A funeral mass will be Thursday, July 1st at 11AM at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Camas. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10AM until 5PM at Straub?s Funeral Home. Vault interment will follow at the Washougal Memorial Cemetery.
