Lee,
I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your lovely wife Linda. She had not only cut my hair, but cut my daughters hair, and was great at her profession. She made everyone feel good when they stepped into "Washougal Barber Shop". I can only imagine what she was like outside of work. May God give you strength through this tough time.

I first met Linda when my sister and her were childhood friends. I was six years older, so I always thought of them as pests. But we all grow-up and go our separate ways. Our paths crossed again when I heard Linda gave good hair cuts. I thought I would check it out. Sure enough it was "The Best Hair Cut Of The Day". When ever I went to get my hair cut she always asked about my sister and family. We would reminisce about the past and have a good laugh. I will greatly miss Linda.

Linda was not only our family\'s barber but great friend for over 20 years. She gave the \'best one today\' to our 21 year old grandson, our 2 year old grandson and everyone in between. We spent numerous days in Mexico with her catching marlin, lolling at the pool, riding quads down the beach, hang-gliding and drinking cervesas. She enjoyed toiling in the hot sun working on her cabin, gardening and stacking firewood. But no matter what she did, she did it happily....always up-beat and glowing with the beautiful aura that she possessed. She truely was the \'best one today\'.
We love and miss \'Our Linda\' sooooo much.
Lee.......We\'re there, buddy.

I would like to extend my deepest sympathy in the passing of Linda. I knew Linda from high school, she graduated a year ahead of me; with my sister Susan. Linda was the first person to cut my daughter Kristy and son Scott\'s hair when they were just toddlers. When we would see Linda at the grocery store, my kids would always say "Hey mom, there\'s the barber shop lady". That was 20 years ago when the Barber Shop was across from the 76 station. Linda was a such a special lady and I am glad to have known her. She will be missed by so many. I lost my sister Susan to cancer in Dec. 2004 and it has been extremely difficult living without her. But I know that, as with Linda, she is in a place where there is no pain and suffering. They are in the hands of our Lord where they are able to rest in peace. I will keep your family in my prayers for the strength you need to get through this time of mourning.
God Bless You.

I would like Linda\'s family to know how much I thought of her and how sadened I am at her passing. We all have lost a good friend and someone I will never forget. At Christmas I sent her a card thanking her for putting up such a gallant fight. In some ways my comments could be seen as selfish as my only hope was that she could conquer her illness and we would again be able to enjoy her company and she could get on with her rich and fulfilling life. I was so looking forward to again hearing the words, "best one today". Linda was beautiful in every way and my heart goes out to her entire family.

I first met Linda as one of her customers at Walt & Jacks, and of course, had to follow her to Washougal! Although it\'s been years since I\'ve seen her, my husband still goes to the barber shop for his cuts. I remember putting my name on the chalk board, specifying Linda as my "barber." She was the best and to this day, is the only one who has given me the best perm ever! And it was for my wedding! I\'ll always remember her saying, "It\'s the best one today," as I got out of her chair. I\'m sure she\'ll be whispering that to all the customers as they leave the barber shop. Linda, you are the best one!

The girl in the window, with
pretty long blonde hair...
I remember the first time I
signed the chalk board. I put my name @ the top of the list. Before I found a chair,
she had moved it to the bottom. The regulars gave me
that, "I don\'t think so" look.
I said, "just kiddin". Linda
just smiled, as she crossed off another name.
She braided Kendra\'s long and
blonde hair her first time
saying, "this one\'s on me" and
ending with, "best one today"
I hope the Washougal Downtown
Association will honor Linda
in a lasting, special way.
She added so much positive
energy and beauty to the Main
Street core.

Linda used to cut my hair when I was a young child, every time that I would get it cut, she would pull out the coaca cola crate and I would sit on it. As I started to go to the barber shop more frequently, we bacame better friends. We eventually became very good friends and she was one of our family friends. I have one question, why do the worst things happen to the best people, she did not deserve for this to happen to her. She was kind, funny, smart, and a newlywed. She had a great life ahead of her. She deserved to live it. Is all that I am trying to say is that she was a great person and had a very positive influenco on me as I grew up. She will forever be in my family and my heart and will never be forgotten.
